Pattaya vendor targeted by foreign man after rejecting sexual advances
A foreign man, estimated to be around 40 years old, reportedly fired several shots at a squid food stall in South Pattaya after being rejected following sexual advances. The incident occurred around noon on October 3 in the Soi VC area.
The vendor, 27-year-old Kanyarat Yenchuchit, stated that the man made inappropriate sexual remarks and invited her to sleep with him. After her husband intervened and ordered the man to leave, the suspect returned less than 10 minutes later and fired four or five shots toward the stall. The vendor and bystanders fled to a nearby house for safety.
While the exact nature of the weapon is unconfirmed, Ms. Yenchuchit believes it may have been a cap gun or an imitation firearm that produces loud reports rather than a lethal weapon. CCTV footage clearly recorded the suspect, who fled the scene. Local police are investigating the incident, which may involve charges of intimidation, public disorder, or the unlawful discharge of a firearm or imitation firearm.
