Paul Schrader warns against sequels to Christopher Nolan’s ‘The Odyssey’

Filmmaker Paul Schrader has shared his perspective on the massive commercial success of Christopher Nolan’s historical epic, ‘The Odyssey’. While praising the film, Schrader warned that its $1.55 billion worldwide box office performance is a rare exception that should not encourage studios to pursue sequels. He predicted that attempting to replicate such a high-budget success could lead to significant financial losses.

Schrader, who is currently promoting his latest film, ‘The Basics of Philosophy’, at the Venice Film Festival, also discussed his ongoing career. Despite previous concerns regarding his health, the screenwriter of ‘Taxi Driver’ remains active with three more films in development.
