Movistar Team signs Paula Blasi on three-year deal
The Movistar Team has officially announced the signing of Spanish cyclist Paula Blasi, who will join the squad for three seasons through 2029. The 23-year-old, a standout performer in the 2026 season, arrives from UAE Team ADQ following a meteoric rise in professional cycling.
Blasi’s recent achievements include winning La Vuelta Femenina, the Amstel Gold Race, and the Volta a Catalunya. She also secured a fifth-place finish in her debut Tour de France Femmes. To secure her services, Movistar reportedly paid a €100,000 release clause to her previous team.
At Movistar, Blasi is expected to share leadership responsibilities with Swiss rider Marlen Reusser. The move is viewed as a strategic investment to bolster the team's competitiveness in major international races, including the Tour de France. Blasi expressed that she sought a team that shared her ambitions and offered a supportive environment for her continued development.
