Paulo Gonet: Prosecutor General linked to Banco Master founder in London photo
The Federal Police discovered a photograph on the phone of Daniel Vorcaro, founder of Banco Master, showing Brazil’s Prosecutor General Paulo Gonet in London. The image, which depicts Gonet holding a cigar near whiskey glasses, was reportedly taken in April 2024 during a social event at the George Club in Mayfair.
According to investigation details, the photo was forwarded to Vorcaro on June 19, 2025, by lawyer Ciro Soares with the message ‘PG me mandou’. The discovery comes as the Superior Council of the Federal Public Ministry analyzes messages extracted from Vorcaro’s device.
Gonet has denied any close friendship or personal interest in legal proceedings involving Vorcaro. He maintains that his only in-person encounter with the banker occurred during a public legal event in London in April 2024, which was attended by several other authorities. He characterized the allegations of an improper relationship as ‘baseless’ and ‘absurd’.
Supreme Court Minister André Mendonça, who is overseeing the Compliance Zero operation, noted that no illegalities involving the Prosecutor General have been found thus far. The analysis of the 500 GB of data extracted from Vorcaro’s phone remains under restricted access within the Supreme Federal Court.
