Gonet has denied having any friendship or close ties with Vorcaro, characterizing allegations of an improper relationship as ‘baseless’ and ‘absurd’. He clarified that his only in-person encounter with the banker occurred in April 2024 during a public legal event in London and described a brief telephone contact in March 2025 as a ‘banal interaction’ requested by Ciro Soares.

As the Superior Council of the Federal Public Ministry analyzes messages extracted from Vorcaro’s device, Supreme Court Minister André Mendonça, overseeing the Compliance Zero operation, noted that no immediate illegality has been found regarding Gonet. The analysis of approximately 500 GB of data extracted from Vorcaro’s phone remains under restricted access within the Supreme Federal Court.
