Pavel Šulc warns of demanding Nations League schedule

Pavel Šulc, an offensive player for Olympique Lyonnais, has discussed his recovery from a knee injury and his expectations for the upcoming UEFA Nations League schedule. Despite lingering swelling and bruising, Šulc noted that the injury does not significantly limit him, though he experiences pain on harder pitches.

Regarding the national team, Šulc expressed concern over the demanding new Nations League format, which requires the Czech Republic to play four matches within eleven days against elite European opponents, including Croatia, England, and Spain. He suggested that the squad must be rotated heavily to manage the physical load, stating that ‘realistically, no one can manage to play four matches.’

In club play, Šulc has been performing well for Lyon, contributing three assists in five matches and recently helping the team to a 4-0 victory over Rennes. He also touched upon recent fan misconduct during a match, which forced players into the locker rooms due to abusive chanting.
