Pavol Krejčí faces scrutiny following Bratislava traffic accident
Pavol Krejčí, the Director of the Office for the Protection of Constitutional Officials, is facing scrutiny following a traffic accident in the Rača district of Bratislava on August 11. Opposition MP Roman Mikulec has called on Police President Jana Maškarová to investigate allegations regarding Krejčí’s conduct at the scene.
According to eyewitness accounts cited by Mikulec, Krejčí allegedly behaved non-standardly, including attempting to leave the scene before returning and acting arrogantly toward other participants. There have also been unverified claims regarding the smell of alcohol. Mikulec questioned whether Krejčí’s status as a police officer influenced his behavior, drawing comparisons to a previous incident involving the head of the SIS.
The Ministry of Interior stated that the Bratislava Regional Police Inspectorate is investigating the accident. Interior Minister Matúš Šutaj Eštok defended Krejčí, asserting that he cooperated fully with the police and denied any allegations of alcohol consumption, dismissing the claims as sensationalism.
