Investigation into Pavol Krejčí traffic accident

Overview

Pavol Krejčí, Director of the Office for the Protection of Constitutional Officials, is under investigation following a traffic accident in the Rača district of Bratislava on August 11.

Opposition MP Roman Mikulec has called for an investigation by Police President Jana Maškarová, citing eyewitness accounts that Krejčí allegedly behaved “non-standardly” by attempting to leave the scene and acting arrogantly. Unverified claims regarding the smell of alcohol have also been raised. Mikulec questioned if Krejčí’s status as a police officer influenced his conduct.

The Ministry of Interior confirmed that the Bratislava Regional Police Inspectorate is investigating. Interior Minister Matúš Šutaj Eštok defended Krejčí, stating he cooperated fully with police and dismissing allegations of alcohol consumption as “sensationalism.”
