Payroll issues reported at CCSS and Chedraui

The Costa Rican Social Security Fund (CCSS) has regularized the payment of ordinary salaries for its workers. The institution implemented measures to resolve incidents detected during payroll processing through the joint efforts of the Administrative Management, the Directorate of Administration and Personnel Management, and various human resources units. Administrative Manager Gabriela Artavia Monge stated that the goal is to provide economic security to health service personnel.

In Mexico, the supermarket chain Chedraui reported variations in weekly pay amounts for employees in Baja California, Mexico City, State of Mexico, Veracruz, and Quintana Roo. The company explained that the difference resulted from Income Tax (ISR) calculations after five weeks of pay were accumulated within a single monthly period, which affected eligibility for certain employment subsidies. Chedraui clarified that this was not an additional deduction but a tax adjustment. To mitigate the impact, the company authorized a one-time extraordinary cash payment for affected employees to be distributed at branches.
