Payward joins Anthropic’s Project Glasswing to enhance crypto security

Payward, the parent company of the cryptocurrency exchange Kraken, has joined Anthropic’s Project Glasswing to enhance its defensive cybersecurity capabilities. Through this partnership, Payward has gained access to Claude Mythos 5, a specialized AI model designed to identify and analyze software vulnerabilities at machine scale.

Payward intends to use the model to scan its software environments and technical infrastructure for security flaws. Findings will be reviewed by the company’s security teams for remediation. Additionally, Payward committed to reporting any vulnerabilities discovered in third-party open-source software to the respective project maintainers to strengthen the broader crypto ecosystem.

Project Glasswing is an invitation-only program launched by Anthropic to provide vetted organizations—including major technology and financial institutions—with access to advanced, cyber-capable AI models. The initiative aims to help defenders use frontier AI to find vulnerabilities before they can be exploited by attackers. Payward is reported to be the first cryptocurrency company to participate in the program.
