PBNU Chairman Gus Kikin meets Saudi Arabian Ambassador

KH Abdul Hakim Mahfudz, also known as Gus Kikin, the newly elected Chairman of the Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) for the 2026–2031 period, met with the Saudi Arabian Ambassador to Indonesia, Faisal bin Abdullah Al-Amudi, in Jakarta on September 4, 2026.

During the visit, Gus Kikin presented two works by the founder of Nahdlatul Ulama, KH Muhammad Hasyim Asy’ari: the Syarah Kitab Qanun Asasi and its translation. These texts outline the fundamental principles and organizational thoughts of the founder. The meeting aimed to strengthen brotherhood and cooperation between the organization and the Saudi Arabian government.

Ambassador Al-Amudi expressed his support and offered prayers for Gus Kikin’s success in leading PBNU. He noted that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia maintains good coordination and ongoing cooperation with major Islamic organizations in Indonesia, including Nahdlatul Ulama.
