Indonesia implements MSME support and low-interest credit programs

The Indonesian government is implementing several initiatives to support micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and social welfare. The Ministry of MSMEs is finalizing a ministerial decree to provide a 50% discount on marketplace service fees for MSMEs marketing local products. Additionally, the Halal Product Assurance Agency (BPJPH) is integrating halal certification services into the SAPA UMKM digital platform to ease access for small businesses.

In financial support, the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs has issued Regulation Number 7 of 2026, establishing the Credit for Underprivileged Women (KPPS) program. This scheme offers productive financing with a low flat interest rate of 8% per year for women from low-income families, significantly reducing the previous average of 24%.

On a separate note, President Prabowo Subianto praised the leadership of the Army Chief of Staff and the National Police Chief, citing their achievements and dedication during an event in Central Java.
