PCDF investigates theft of ballistic vests from Detran-DF

The Civil Police of the Federal District (PCDF) conducted an operation on Thursday to investigate the theft of 36 ballistic vests from the Department of Transit of the Federal District (Detran-DF). The investigation began in September 2026 after a routine inventory at the Logistics Operation Unit in Asa Norte revealed the missing equipment.

During the latest phase of the operation, authorities executed three temporary arrest warrants and six search and seizure warrants across six administrative regions and the surrounding areas, including Santa Maria, São Sebastião, Riacho Fundo I, Recanto das Emas, Novo Gama, and Águas Lindas. In addition to the ballistic vests, police seized other items such as jackets and reflective vests associated with the investigated group.

So far, seven vests have been recovered in previous actions. The current operation aims to locate the remaining equipment, map the illegal circulation of these goods, and determine how the items were removed from storage. Investigators are also looking into potential involvement by individuals with access to the storage site. Seized documents, cell phones, and digital media are being analyzed to further the investigation.
