Pécs Garden Cinema Launches Summer Series as Prieger Zsolt Headlines Hungarian Literary Festival

The Zsolnay Cultural Quarter in Pécs will reopen its historic Pirogránit Garden Cinema for the 2026 summer season. From August 2 to August 30, Sunday evenings at 21:00 (20:00 on August 30) the open‑air venue will screen a mix of recent blockbusters and classic films, including titles such as *Gran Torino* and *Encanto*. Attendees can bring their own popcorn to be reheated in on‑site microwaves, and tickets are available online.

At the same time, the Summer Margó Literary Festival will take place on August 14 in the Bánya Garden of Salföld. Author Prieger Zsolt will discuss his new book projects, present a curated selection of József Attila’s poems highlighting the poet’s lesser‑known, humorous side, and perform with the Anima Sound System. The event is part of a broader cultural programme that also features concerts and readings by other Hungarian writers and musicians.
