PDI Perjuangan holds Youth Pledge historical walk in Jakarta

The PDI Perjuangan political party organized the 'Merah Muda Fest 2026' in Jakarta, featuring a historical walk known as the 'Napak Tilas Sumpah Pemuda' to commemorate the upcoming centenary of the Youth Pledge. Approximately 500 participants, including high school students and young people, walked from the Youth Pledge Museum through historical sites including the Jakarta Cathedral to Lapangan Banteng.

During the event, PDI Perjuangan Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto conveyed messages from Party Chairwoman Megawati Soekarnoputri, urging the younger generation to master science and technology for humanitarian purposes. He emphasized the importance of preparing young leaders in politics, economics, and culture who maintain a character of standing up for the oppressed and the unfairly treated.

Participants used the event to voice several demands to the government, including calls for free education, anti-corruption measures, and the cessation of forest and land fires. The event was attended by several prominent figures, including Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung and national committee chairman Denny Cagur.
