Peace initiatives held in Sesto Fiorentino and at UNESCO

Various peace-focused initiatives are taking place in Europe. In Sesto Fiorentino, Italy, the seventh edition of “Il coraggio della pace disarma” will be held from October 1 to 4 at the Unione Operaia di Colonnata. The event features debates and meetings on disarmament, the situation in Palestine, international politics, and wealth redistribution. Notable participants include Giuseppe Conte, Jeffrey Sachs, and Francesca Albanese.

In Paris, the UNESCO headquarters hosted “Calling for Peace,” an initiative promoted by All Future Generations (AFG) to mark the International Day of Peace. The event centered on the artwork “Calling for Peace” by artist Francesco Barone and designer Simone Roveda. The sculpture, featuring a marble figure holding a brass olive branch, serves as a symbol for human rights, climate change, and the protection of life. During the ceremony, Barone presented artistic statuettes to several international figures.
