Peace marches scheduled across Italy for October 3

Various peace marches are scheduled to take place in Italy on Saturday, October 3, promoting themes of nonviolence, dialogue, and fraternity.

In the Cusio region, a march will begin at 9:30 AM from the Monte Mesma Convent, traveling approximately five kilometers to the Sacro Monte di Orta. This event is part of the ‘Visioni di un futuro possibile’ festival, which commemorates the 800th anniversary of the death of Saint Francis of Assisi. Organizers are encouraging car-sharing to reduce environmental impact.

In the Rubicone area, a separate march will start at 2:30 PM in Gatteo, passing through San Mauro Pascoli and concluding in Savignano sul Rubicone. The six-kilometer route includes participation from approximately 70 associations and religious institutions. Local mayors are expected to announce concrete municipal commitments to peace during the event's conclusion in Savignano sul Rubicone.
