Peace Mothers arrive in Ankara to demand political steps

Members of the Peace Mothers Assembly have arrived in Ankara from 24 different cities to demand concrete actions regarding the Peace and Democratic Society Process. More than 300 members gathered at the Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) headquarters to organize demonstrations.

The group plans to hold a press statement at Meclis Park and establish a tent vigil in Kurtuluş Park. Their scheduled activities include attending political group meetings at the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) and seeking direct meetings with officials from the Ministry of Justice and the Presidency.

The protesters are calling for the physical freedom and status of Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan, as well as the release of political prisoners. Participants expressed frustration that despite the ongoing process, they have seen no tangible progress, urging the state to take proactive steps to ensure a healthy peace process.
