Peace Mothers protests in Ankara
Overview
Members of the Peace Mothers movement, traveling from various cities including Şırnak, Mardin, and Çukurova, organized a “Peace Watch” protest in Ankara. The group demanded concrete steps toward a solution process, the release of political prisoners, and clarification regarding the legal status and physical freedom of Abdullah Öcalan.
By early November, more than 300 members from 24 different cities arrived in the capital. The protesters gathered at the DEM Party headquarters to organize demonstrations, including a press statement at Meclis Park and a tent vigil in Kurtuluş Park. The activists also sought meetings with officials from the Ministry of Justice and the Presidency, expressing frustration over the lack of tangible progress in the Peace and Democratic Society Process.
