Pearl Abyss announces Crimson Desert DLC 'Charting the Unknown

Pearl Abyss has announced 'Charting the Unknown', the first major paid DLC for its open-world action adventure, Crimson Desert Enhanced. The expansion is scheduled for global release on October 15, 2026, with European players gaining access on October 16.

The DLC significantly expands the world of Pywel by introducing maritime exploration and underwater gameplay. Players will be able to captain their own ships, explore new islands, and discover sunken ruins and treasures. The update also introduces new combat challenges on both land and sea, including encounters with new enemies and potential new mounts.

Beyond exploration, the expansion enhances the game's management and social systems. Features include an improved housing system for building and customizing homes, the ability to lease and manage facilities for profit, and deeper social interactions and relationship-building with NPCs. The story will continue through characters Kliff, Oongka, and Damiane, touching on themes of political conflict and ancient mysteries.

The DLC is priced at approximately 24.99 EUR (or 27,800 KRW). Pre-orders are currently available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, and the Epic Games Store. Players who pre-order will receive exclusive in-game items, such as the 'Charter's Diving Set'.
