Crimson Desert sells 6 million copies worldwide, launches new patch and DLC plans
Pearl Abyss announced that its open‑world action‑adventure Crimson Desert has exceeded 6 million copies sold worldwide, reaching the milestone in just 83 days after launch on 19 March 2026. The game sold 2 million copies on its first day and surpassed 5 million within a month, a record for a new single‑player IP from South Korea. CEO Jin‑young Heo thanked players and noted the title ranks as the second‑best‑selling game of 2026 in the United States according to market‑research firm Circana.
The studio also released Patch 1.11, which raises the maximum number of pet companions a player can register to 100 (with 50 active at a camp) and adds new equipment for secondary characters Damiane and Oongka, cross‑save support between PC, PlayStation and Xbox, and various quality‑of‑life fixes. During the Summer Game Fest 2026, marketing director Will Powers clarified that forthcoming paid content will be presented as a premium DLC, distinct from the free post‑launch updates.
Pearl Abyss confirmed a schedule of further updates from June through September, featuring narrative adjustments, new combat challenges, and continued DLC development. The ongoing service model aims to enrich the single‑player experience while maintaining the game’s strong community momentum.
