Pearl Abyss has announced a two-week delay for the upcoming Crimson Desert DLC, titled ‘Charting the Unknown’. Originally scheduled for October 15, 2026, the expansion is now set to launch on October 29, 2026. The developer noted that the frequency of free updates has been reduced to prioritize the development of this content, which is expected to include features such as building construction and new gameplay mechanics.

In parallel with official development, the Crimson Desert modding community has released ‘Seasons of Pywel’. This mod introduces a dynamic, calendar-driven seasonal system that changes the game world every 30 days without requiring reloads. The mod affects visual elements like terrain and foliage, and integrates with the game’s temperature system, requiring players to adjust character armor based on the current season and weather patterns.
