Pearl Abyss reports $180 M Crimson Desert revenue and eyes DLC

Pearl Abyss said its newly launched action‑RPG Crimson Desert generated about $180 million in revenue in the first quarter of 2026, driving a 419 % year‑on‑year increase in operating revenue to ₩328.5 billion (≈ $220 million) and raising operating profit to ₩212.1 billion (≈ $142 million). Over five million copies have been sold, with sales split roughly 50 % between PC and consoles. International markets dominate: roughly 94 % of revenue came from outside South Korea, and North America and Europe together accounted for 81 % of the total.

The company announced that it will continue to support Crimson Desert with regular updates and is now considering a downloadable‑content (DLC) expansion. It also outlined its pipeline of upcoming titles – the pre‑production game DokeV and the conceptual MMO Plan 8 – aiming to release a new game every two to three years. Staff received bonuses following the strong launch, and the studio reiterated its focus on user satisfaction and long‑term sales.

Additional notes from the coverage include a recent patch fixing a critical bug, fan gratitude for funding the project through purchases of Pearl Abyss’s earlier MMO Black Desert Online, and promotional pricing of the game on console retailers.
