Pearl Abyss' Crimson Desert reaches 6 million worldwide sales in 83 days
South Korean developer Pearl Abyss announced that its open‑world action‑adventure Crimson Desert has sold over 6 million copies worldwide, achieving the milestone in just 83 days after its March 19 launch. The game moved 2 million units on launch day, surpassed 5 million within the first month and reached the 6 million mark in less than three months, setting a record for a single‑player title developed in Korea. CEO Jin‑young Heo thanked players globally and said the company will continue to “move forward and take on new challenges.”
Pearl Abyss is supporting the title with regular free updates, including new combat features, story enhancements, a cross‑save system for PC, PlayStation and Xbox, and a pet‑limit increase to 100 slots. A narrative‑focused DLC is in development, though details remain undisclosed. The studio estimates that the sales have generated roughly $179 million so far, with projected full‑year revenue between $432 million and $514 million. The ongoing post‑launch support is described as “free marketing,” aimed at sustaining the game’s position on Steam charts and expanding its player base.
The milestone has been highlighted by market data showing Crimson Desert as the second‑best‑selling video game in the United States for 2026 to date.
