Pearl Abyss Crimson Desert Charting the Unknown open-world RPG video game DLC

Pearl Abyss has released a comprehensive preview of “Charting the Unknown,” the first major paid DLC for its open-world action-RPG Crimson Desert. Scheduled for release on October 29, 2026, the expansion introduces several new gameplay systems and expands the playable world of Pywel.

Key features include ocean exploration and shipbuilding, allowing players to construct and customize vessels to navigate the Great Ocean of Pywel. The DLC also introduces underwater exploration mechanics, where players can use diving suits to discover sunken ruins, treasures, and resources. Narrative content will expand through individual storylines for the main characters Kliff, Damiane, and Oongka.

Social and management systems are also being overhauled. Players can develop romantic relationships with certain characters, leading to marriage. Additionally, the expansion introduces business management, where players can operate facilities and strongholds, and an enhanced housing system that allows for more detailed architectural customization. To celebrate the launch, Pearl Abyss will also host a two-week Twitch Drops event offering free in-game items such as weapons, cosmetics, and shipbuilding components.
