Pedestrian fatalities reported in separate Ontario incidents

Three separate fatal pedestrian incidents have been reported in Ontario.

In Richmond Hill, a 27-year-old man died following a hit-and-run collision on Yonge Street. According to reports, the man was first struck by a northbound vehicle before being hit by a southbound vehicle. The driver of the southbound vehicle fled the scene, while the northbound driver remained. York Regional Police are investigating the incident, and no charges have been filed.

In East York, a traffic agent was killed after being struck by a vehicle near Millwood Road and Overlea Boulevard. The incident occurred around 9 a.m. on Thursday. Police confirmed the driver remained at the scene, though it is currently unclear if charges are pending.

In Winnipeg, a man in his 60s was killed while using a crosswalk at Main and Jarvis Avenue. Following the incident, newly elected councillor Natalie Smith and the group Streets for People Winnipeg called for safety improvements, including narrowing the street and lowering speed limits to prevent future deaths.
