Pedestrian killed in hit-and-run on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway

A young man was killed in a hit-and-run accident on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway near the OPIC area in Ogun State on Wednesday. The victim was attempting to cross the highway from the Lagos-bound side toward the roadside when he was struck and run over by a speeding truck.

The truck driver fled the scene immediately following the collision. Eyewitnesses noted the severity of the incident, which caused significant traffic delays as motorists navigated the area.

Officials from the Ogun State Traffic Compliance Agency and the Amotekun Corps were deployed to manage traffic and oversee the scene. By 6 p.m., the federal road safety agency had removed the victim's body and transported it to a local teaching hospital, and traffic flow was restored to normal.
