Pedro Acosta to undergo carpal tunnel surgery after Dutch GP withdrawal

Spanish MotoGP rider Pedro Acosta withdrew from the Dutch Grand Prix at Assen after experiencing severe carpal tunnel syndrome in his right hand. He reported numbness and loss of brake control, saying, "Llevo desde Japón sufriendo con que se me duermen los dedos de la mano".

Acosta will undergo surgery early next week, moving the operation up from a plan to perform it after the Sachsenring round in Germany. The accelerated timing aims to allow him to recover in time for the German GP scheduled for July 5. The injury has sidelined him from the sprint race in the Netherlands and raises concerns about his participation in upcoming events.

The rider hopes his situation prompts technical checks, stating, "Espero que a nadie le pase porque es la peor sensación".
