Pedro Luis Morales eyes Morena coordination post in Ahome, Mexico

Pedro Luis Morales Figueroa, a longtime public‑service lawyer from Sinaloa, is running for an internal Morena position that would make him the coordinator of the Defensa de la Transformación in the municipality of Ahome. The role would allow him to influence the selection of the party’s candidate for the municipal presidency. Morales, now a member of the Partido Verde Ecologista de México, is part of the coalition formed by Morena, the Partido del Trabajo and the Green Party.

His career includes work as a lawyer for the Procuraduría de la Defensa del Menor, the Mujer y la Familia, a stint as an auxiliary parliamentarian in the state congress, senior posts in the municipal government of Culiacán, and direction of legal affairs for the civil‑society group Red Fosin. He also belongs to the Sindicato Nacional de Trabajadores, Obreros de la Industria y Asalariados del Campo (SINTOIAC). Morales is noted for maintaining a continuous grassroots presence, visiting neighborhoods and listening to residents rather than relying on high‑profile campaign activities.
