Pegadaian distributes 1,000 food packages to online taxi drivers

PT Pegadaian (Persero) has distributed 1,000 basic food packages to online motorcycle taxi (ojol) drivers through its “Pegadaian Peduli” social and environmental responsibility program. The event, titled “1,000 Ojol UMKM Merdeka,” was held at the Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises office in South Jakarta to commemorate Indonesia’s 81st Independence Day.

The initiative was a cross-sector collaboration involving the Ministry of UMKM, state-owned enterprises (BUMN), the private sector, MSME players, and various driver associations. In addition to the food distribution, the event featured culinary stalls from MSMEs, entertainment, and interactive games for 1,000 driver partners from various online transportation platforms.

Eka Pebriansyah, Director of Network & Operations at PT Pegadaian, highlighted the vital role online drivers play in supporting the micro-business ecosystem and urban mobility by connecting MSMEs with consumers. The program aims to alleviate daily expenses for drivers and their families while strengthening community ties.
