Indonesia's National Nutrition Agency mandates local milk sourcing and suspends 91 units

The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) has announced new mandates and disciplinary actions regarding the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program. Head of BGN Sudaryono stated that starting November 1, Nutrition Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG) must prioritize local dairy farmers, with a requirement that 80 percent of the milk distributed in schools must be fresh milk sourced from domestic producers to support local economies and food security.

Simultaneously, the BGN has suspended the operations of 91 SPPG units indefinitely. This decision follows an audit by the Audit Board of Indonesia (BPK) which found that these units had failed to return approximately Rp18.19 billion in funds to the state treasury. The suspension will remain in effect until the units provide valid proof of payment to the state.

In separate news, PT Pegadaian (Persero) was ranked 8th in the Danantara Indonesia CX100 Award 2026, recognizing it as one of the top 10 state-owned enterprises for service quality. The company was noted for its digital ecosystem, including the Tring! application and Gold ATMs.

Additionally, the Borobudur Authority (BPOB) is promoting cross-sector collaboration to develop the Borobudur Highland in Purworejo to boost local tourism and economic benefits.
