Peloponnese Region allocates 24.1 million euros for agricultural improvements

The Directorate of Rural Economy of the Peloponnese Region has announced the allocation of approximately 24.1 million euros to support new farm improvement plans. This initiative is part of the Strategic Plan for the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) of Greece for 2023–2027 and is co-financed by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development.

The funding is divided into three primary intervention categories:

1. Competitiveness Improvement: Supports the establishment, expansion, or modernization of agricultural buildings (such as stables, warehouses, and greenhouses), the purchase of new machinery and equipment (including tractors), land fencing, and the acquisition of land or perennial plantings.

2. Water Conservation: Focuses on sustainable resource management through investments in water-saving machinery and equipment, such as drip irrigation, artificial rain systems, the construction of private reservoirs, and irrigation automation.

3. Circular Economy and Energy: Targets climate change adaptation and energy efficiency. This includes investments in renewable energy production, such as photovoltaic systems and geothermal energy, as well as equipment designed to reduce emissions and promote a circular bioeconomy.
