Peloponnese Region allocates over 15.5 million euros to young farmers

The Peloponnese Region has announced the results of the first call for the ‘Establishment of Young Farmers’ intervention, part of the 2023–2027 Common Agricultural Policy Strategic Plan. Following a decision by Regional Governor Dimitris Ptochos, the administrative review has identified 457 young farmers as direct beneficiaries, receiving a total of 15,285,000 euros in public funding.

An additional 7 candidates have been listed as potential beneficiaries, contingent upon the submission of required supplementary documentation, which would account for 242,500 euros. The total public expenditure for both groups amounts to 15,527,500 euros.

According to the regional administration, no eligible applications were excluded due to budget exhaustion. This funding initiative aims to support the next generation of producers and revitalize the agricultural potential of the Peloponnese by providing the financial tools necessary for new entrants to organize and invest in their professional activities.
