Peloponnese Region announces €1.9 million for social and health programs

The Peloponnese Region has launched two major social and health initiatives under the ‘Peloponnese 2021–2027’ program, co-financed by the European Social Fund+.

One initiative allocates €900,000 to support Roma children and families. The program aims to foster social inclusion through experiential workshops, summer camps, and cultural or athletic activities. It also provides social care services for toddlers aged 2 to 4 and counseling support for parents, with a focus on young mothers, to facilitate better integration into school and social environments.

A second initiative, with a budget of €1 million, focuses on public health prevention in the areas of Sikyonnia, Xylokastro–Evrostini, and Nemea. This program offers a wide range of services, including early detection of developmental and learning difficulties in children, mental health support for adolescents using virtual reality tools, and mobility and bone density assessments for the elderly. Additionally, the program includes screenings for hypertension, cancer, and fertility counseling to address low birth rates.
