Peloponnese Region approves multi-million euro infrastructure and water projects

The Peloponnese Region has approved several major infrastructure and utility projects across its regional units, totaling over 4.35 million euros in combined funding and initiatives.

Under the ‘Peloponnese 2021–2027’ program, Regional Governor Dimitris Ptochos has activated a 1.5 million euro call for proposals aimed at upgrading water supply networks. This initiative targets municipalities and water utilities to implement remote control and monitoring systems. The goal is to reduce water leaks by more than 30%, save 360,000 cubic meters of water annually, and decrease energy consumption by over 20% through smart metering and leak detection technologies.

Additionally, the Regional Committee has approved various projects totaling 2.85 million euros to enhance safety and infrastructure in Argolis, Arcadia, Corinthia, Laconia, and Messenia. Key works include flood protection measures in Argolis and Laconia, road maintenance in Argolis and Messenia, and agricultural electrification planning in Corinthia.
