Peloponnese Region signs 1 million euro rockfall protection contract

The Peloponnese Region has signed a 1 million euro contract to implement rockfall protection measures on the Tripoli–Pyrgos National Road at the Lagadia section. The project aims to mitigate the danger of falling rocks and enhance safety for residents and travelers in an area that has recently faced significant road network issues.

Regional Governor Dimitris Ptochos stated that the intervention is part of a broader effort to address infrastructure challenges in the Gortynia region. In addition to the Lagadia project, several other infrastructure works are being planned or approved, including a 2.65 million euro project in Livadaki, a 1.2 million euro road restoration in Chora, and 1.1 million euros worth of interventions on the Vidiaki–Monastiraki and Velimachi roads.

Geological studies are currently being finalized in Lagadia to determine specific intervention points, while studies for the Dimitsana–Stemnitsa road and other bypasses are also underway. Furthermore, a larger 45 million euro road safety project is being implemented through the Recovery Fund.
