Peloponnese road safety project nears completion

A major road safety project in the Peloponnese region, with a total budget of 45 million euros, is entering its final stages. Funded by the Recovery and Resilience Facility, the initiative targets over 600 locations across the region's national and provincial road networks to address safety concerns.

In the Argolida regional unit, the works include 162,500 square meters of road surface restoration and 27,400 square meters of new road markings. The project also involves 52 kilometers of vehicle containment systems, the installation of 2,560 new signs (comprising 915 regulatory and danger signs and 1,645 information signs), and 3,500 plastic delineators.

Peloponnese Governor Dimitris Ptochos visited completed and near-complete sites in Argolida, stating that this represents the largest road safety intervention ever implemented in the region. The project aims to improve visibility, road conditions, and overall functionality for drivers and passengers.
