Pemalang police investigate death of 7-year-old student

Police in Pemalang are investigating the death of a 7-year-old second-grade student, MHA, at SDN 1 Kebondalem. Investigators have questioned eight witnesses, including students and parents, and have brought in two suspects for questioning.

The incident reportedly occurred around 09:00 WIB during a school break in front of the school bathrooms. While most students were playing in the field, a witness saw the assault but was too afraid to report it to teachers at the time. Preliminary findings from the Pemalang Police suggest the violence was triggered by personal friction or insults between the victim and the suspects, rather than extortion.
