Pen Marudhar acquires ‘Love & War’ theatrical rights for Rs. 300 crores

The global theatrical rights for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming romance-action drama, ‘Love & War’, have been sold to distributor Pen Marudhar for Rs. 300 crores. The deal follows an intense bidding war involving several major industry players, including Dharma Productions, Jio Studios, and Anil Thadani.

Scheduled for release on January 21, 2027, the film features an ensemble cast including Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Vicky Kaushal. The project marks a significant reunion between director Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Ranbir Kapoor after two decades. Industry insiders suggest the high investment reflects confidence in the film’s potential for significant profit due to its star-studded lineup and the director’s track record.
