Penélope Cruz and Javier Bardem attend “Bunker” premiere at TIFF
Actors Penélope Cruz and Javier Bardem appeared at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) for the North American premiere of the thriller “Bunker,” directed by Florian Zeller. The film follows a married couple whose relationship is tested after the husband accepts a controversial project to build a survivalist bunker for a tech billionaire.
During a Q&A session following the screening, Cruz discussed the emotional challenges of acting alongside her husband of 16 years. She noted that working with a spouse can be “scary” because of the instinct to protect them, mentioning that she typically prefers a multi-year gap between projects shared with Bardem. The duo previously appeared together in films such as “Jamon” and “Vicky Cristina Barcelona.”
The film also had a presence at the 83rd Venice Film Festival, where it was featured in the official competition.
