Penélope Cruz and Javier Bardem promote ‘Bunker’ at TIFF

At the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), actress Penélope Cruz discussed her professional relationship with Javier Bardem during the red carpet premiere of the psychological thriller ‘Bunker’. Directed by Florian Zeller, the film features both actors.

Cruz described Bardem as ‘a force of nature’ and noted his ‘incredible talent,’ stating that he continues to impress her professionally just as he did when they first worked together in the 1992 film ‘Jamón, jamón’. She explained that the pair makes a conscious effort to separate their personal relationship from their professional roles and do not frequently seek out joint projects to protect their personal bond.

Director Florian Zeller praised the duo, stating he chose them for the film because they are ‘the best, not only as actors but as human beings.’
