Penn Badgley to star in Amazon mystery series
Amazon MGM Studios has ordered a darkly comedic murder mystery series for Prime Video titled ‘Everyone in My Family Has Killed Someone’. The series is an adaptation of the bestselling novel by Benjamin Stevenson.
Penn Badgley, known for his role in Netflix’s ‘You’, will star as Ern Cunningham, a mystery-writing expert. The plot is set in the mountains of Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom and follows Ern as he attends a family reunion to welcome his brother, Michael, home from prison. The gathering turns deadly when a frozen body is discovered and a snowstorm traps the family inside.
David Hemingson, the Oscar-nominated screenwriter of ‘The Holdovers’, will serve as showrunner and executive producer. The project is produced by Fifth Season and Made Up Stories. While a release date has not been officially announced, industry speculation suggests a potential debut in 2027.
