Penn Badgley to star in Amazon mystery series

Actor Penn Badgley has been cast to lead a new murder-mystery series for Amazon MGM Studios titled ‘Everyone in My Family Has Killed Someone’. The project is an adaptation of the 2022 bestselling novel by Benjamin Stevenson.

Set in the mountains of Vermont, the story follows Ern Cunningham, a mystery-writing expert who attends a family reunion to welcome his brother Michael home from prison. The gathering turns deadly when a frozen body is discovered during a snowstorm that traps the family members inside. The plot centers on the tension of a family where every member has been involved in a killing, whether intentional or accidental.

David Hemingson, an Academy Award nominee, will serve as showrunner and executive producer. The series is being produced by Fifth Season and Made Up Stories. Badgley, known for his role as Joe Goldberg in the series ‘You’, will transition from playing a serial killer to playing a detective-style protagonist.
