Penn State opens Paterno Family Football Experience Room

Penn State athletics and the Penn State All-Sports Museum have opened the Paterno Family Football Experience Room, a permanent exhibit located inside Beaver Stadium. The exhibit celebrates over a century of Nittany Lions football history through trophies, historic artifacts, and interactive multimedia displays.

A central feature of the room is a replica of the late head coach Joe Paterno’s office from the Lasch Football Building. The recreation includes authentic items such as his original desk, chair, furniture, and the actual wooden door that served as his office entrance. On display are personal memorabilia, including his original stationery, a film projector, and a lamp.

The exhibit serves as a significant tribute to Paterno, who coached the program from 1966 to 2011 and recorded 409 victories. New head coach Matt Campbell noted that commemorating the program's history is central to his role, acknowledging the foundation built by those who preceded the current team.
