PennDOT announces roadwork in Mifflin, Juniata, and Philadelphia

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced several roadwork projects across various counties. In Mifflin and Juniata counties, maintenance is scheduled for the week of August 31. Work in Mifflin County includes bridge maintenance and cleaning on Route 22 and Route 322, as well as shoulder maintenance on Route 103 and Route 22. These efforts aim to improve drainage and prevent pavement deterioration. In Juniata County, bridge maintenance is scheduled on Route 2010.

In Philadelphia, overnight closures are planned for Interstate 76 (Schuylkill Expressway) from August 31 through September 4. These closures, occurring between 10:00 PM and 5:00 AM, are necessary for the Market Street Bridge construction project. Westbound I-76 will close on Monday and Tuesday nights, while eastbound closures are scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday nights. This work is part of a $148.9 million project to rehabilitate and replace several bridges spanning the Schuylkill River and various rail lines.
