PennDOT roadwork to cause traffic delays across Pennsylvania counties

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) will undertake a series of maintenance projects in Berks County during the week of July 27‑31, including drainage work, shoulder widening, crack sealing and paving on roads such as Forgedale Road, Route 419, Christmas Village Road, North Heidelberg Road, U.S. 222 and Route 12. Lane restrictions, flagging and occasional detours are planned, and motorists are warned to expect delays and possible rain‑related postponements.

In eastern Delaware County, PennDOT crews will resurface Chelsea Road and Bethel Road/Station Road from July 27 through July 31. Work will involve milling, paving and utility adjustments, with daytime lane closures and overnight operations. Drivers should plan extra travel time, follow posted signage and be aware that adverse weather could delay the projects.
