Pennsylvania archery deer season begins with new rules

Pennsylvania’s statewide archery deer season is scheduled to begin on Saturday, October 3, 2026, and will run through November 20, 2026. A second archery season will reopen from December 26, 2026, through January 24, 2027.

The 2026-2027 season introduces expanded Sunday hunting, which is now permitted on all Sundays within the official season dates, except for migratory game birds. This expansion applies to state game lands and state forests, though certain state parks and preserves maintain existing limitations.

Additionally, the Pennsylvania Game Commission has updated regulations regarding Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD) for the upcoming season. Hunters are advised to use full-body safety harnesses when using tree stands and must wear fluorescent orange clothing when using state game lands between October 1, 2026, and January 30, 2027.
