Pennsylvania highways face upcoming lane and ramp closures

Several major highway construction projects in Pennsylvania are set to cause traffic disruptions. In Jefferson County, eastbound Interstate 80 will face a seven-day lane closure starting at 4:00 a.m. on Monday, August 17. This closure, located between Exit 78 and Exit 81, is necessary for paving operations as part of the I-80 North Fork Bridges Project. This long-term initiative, which includes bridge replacements and culvert extensions, is expected to conclude in summer 2028.

In the West Conshohocken and Lower Merion areas, PennDOT has scheduled overnight ramp closures between Interstate 476 and Interstate 76 for the weekend of August 21 and August 22. These closures, occurring from 10:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., are part of a $63.7 million project to resurface and repair nearly 17 miles of I-476. Additionally, weeknight lane closures on sections of I-476 between the I-76 and I-95 interchanges are expected to continue through early September.
