Pennsylvania infrastructure projects trigger widespread road closures

Multiple roadwork and infrastructure projects are scheduled across Pennsylvania, including Philadelphia, Delaware, Chester, Bucks, and Montgomery counties, causing significant traffic disruptions.

In Philadelphia, Interstate 76 (Schuylkill Expressway) will undergo overnight closures in alternating directions from September 13 to September 18 between the 30th Street and I-676 interchanges. This is part of a $148.9 million project to rehabilitate bridges carrying Market Street.

In Delaware County, overnight lane closures are scheduled on I-476 and southbound I-95 from September 13 to September 18 to repair intelligent transportation systems. This $10.4 million project involves installing variable speed limit and queue warning systems.

Additional PennDOT projects include: - Route 30 bridge inspections in Manheim Township on September 16 and 17, causing daytime lane restrictions. - Various paving, milling, and utility work across Bucks, Chester, and Montgomery counties, affecting roads such as Woodbourne Road, I-295, Chestnut Tree Road, and Valley Road through September 19.

Motorists are advised to plan for delays and seek alternate routes where possible.
