Pennsylvania man charged with killing mother after hour-long attack
Jakob Korber, 29, has been charged with criminal homicide following the fatal beating of his mother, Christin Hamilton, 53, in Sewickley Township, Pennsylvania.
According to Pennsylvania State Police, the attack occurred on the morning of Sunday, August 30, at the family home in Westmoreland County. Surveillance footage captured Korber allegedly assaulting Hamilton for over an hour using his hands, feet, and various objects found on the front porch. Authorities stated that Hamilton had recently showered and was wrapped in a towel when the assault began.
Following the incident, Korber reportedly changed his clothes and slept in a nearby field. He was later apprehended by police in a moment captured by a local news broadcast, where he surrendered to officers. During subsequent interviews, Korber allegedly confessed to the killing and expressed some level of remorse, according to Trooper Steve Limani.
Hamilton's daughter discovered the victim's body outside the residence around 9:00 a.m. Korber is currently being held without bail.
